European Leaders Condemn US Action as ‘Coercion’
European leaders such as the French president charged the US administration of “bullying and threats”, after the visa restrictions were placed on individuals who have been central to efforts to introduce laws governing US-based technology firms.
“For too long, ideologues in Europe have led coordinated campaigns to pressure US companies to suppress American viewpoints they oppose,” wrote the US secretary of state online. “The current administration will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
